Safeguard yourself and others.

Joining the Shelve the Hate movement allows you to take action. Here’s what you can do:

  • Attend events at your school designed to help you stay safe, manage anxiety, or help others.

  • If you are struggling, talk to a trusted adult at your school (a teacher, counselor, librarian, coach, educational aide). If there is an immediate threat, call 911 or 988 for mental health emergencies.

  • You can call a national helpline, Parents 4 Peace at 1-844-497-3223 Monday - Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm EST. You can also email at help@parents4peace.org. Please let them know the best times to connect with you in your message.

  • After your first call, a coordinator will reach out to schedule regular sessions with a team of people trained to educate, coach, and support you.

  • If you are concerned about a friend who is showing extremist behaviors, you can contact Parents 4 Peace as well. You will work with experts who can educate you on the radicalization process and work with you to develop ways to help the person you are concerned about.
